A Typical Day at VBS!

How a day at VBS Works!

The program runs from 9-12 noon for five days. The day is broken down into five segments:

  • Tent Time
  • Opening large group music, Thanks & Prayers, and theme for the day
  • Craft Time (3- 20 minute blocks) campers rotate in their tent group to the three craft stations
  • Trilogy Time (Tent groups rotate through 3- 20 minute blocks of Games, Music, & Snack)
  • Last 10 minutes of the day is back in a large group to remind campers of the days theme and share it with the adults who pick campers up. We go over each of the crafts and do a final couple songs, including our VBS Theme song: I Love You and God Loves You and that's the way it should be!
VBS is only three hours, and it is a fast, action packed three hours! :)

After campers are picked up at noon, the staff head to lunch and our afternoon staff meeting. At this daily afternoon meeting the staff go through the day and talk about what went according to plan and what we need to fix for the next day. We then look to the next day's program and decorations and then begin the preparations to welcome our campers again the next morning. Many of the staff stay late into the afternoon and early evening making sure the decorations, snacks, and crafts are ready for our campers when they return.
