We realize that Zoom Meetings are everywhere, and we decided that rather than lock campers into a specific time-certain Zoom meeting, we would provide a more flexible design.
Our design is to provide families with the content of these VBS weeks, and individual families can decide when and how they would like to explore the content.
Rather than three hours of a structured block of time, like we do at our regular summer VBS, this design allows households to engage the crafts, snacks, games, and videos at their own pace as time allows.
Once a daily link opens up, it will be available 24/7.
At this time, we are not planning any video conferences, but we might add a short video chat on Friday morning of each VBS week. We will get that information out to our camper households during the week of VBS.
We are trying as best we can to recreate our in-person VBS here at Holy Cross on the web, and we realize that there are some holes in the process.
For example, the staff every year spend collectively hundreds of hours prepping crafts, especially for our youngest campers, so they can get right to decorating and making their craft their own. Likewise, we are careful to wait until the campers have been to the opening session where I talk about the crafts and how they connect to the day's theme before the campers see what they are going to make that day.
This unveiling works well for us here at Holy Cross, as we have had time to prep crafts. We realized that your campers could not enjoy that same process last week as everything is unveiled at once.
To correct this misstep, I am happy to send you links to the instructions for all the crafts of the week. This way, you have time to prep crafts ahead of time for your campers, as our staff does here every summer.
If you would like to take advantage of this, just send me an email, and I will email you right back with the links to all the craft instructions for the week.
Send your email to: markvbsemail
We hope your campers are enjoying this online offering, it is our pleasure and honor to bring it to your home.
Stay safe!
Blessings,
—Mark
There is a little monster in all of us! And that is not who we are! We are children of the God of Love, created in God’s image and that means that we are not only good, we are very good! We just need to remember how God created us to be--a community of justice, love and peace for all. So yep we are monsters of God’s love and we share because we care...
Join us online to journey to the Jungles and Savannah of Africa as we explore our royal heritage as God's children. Marked and Christ's own forever. Called to share God's love and peace in the jungle and wherever the Spirit calls us next!
